Answers to the questions HR and Finance teams ask most often when evaluating PeopleCoral.
PeopleCoral is a single-tenant, AI-native HR and payroll platform built for European mid-market multinationals. It pairs a native gross-to-net payroll engine with a deliberately calm HR system, so HR and Finance work from one source of truth across countries — without stitching together a bureau, an HRIS, and a stack of point solutions.
PeopleCoral is built for organisations running HR and payroll across more than one European country that need local statutory accuracy, strong data isolation, and a system their people actually like using. It is a particularly good fit for groups consolidating several country entities onto a single platform, and for teams where security and compliance stakeholders have a real say in the decision. Or HR teams who simply do not want to build and maintain interfaces with other HR vendors as PeopleCoral is building all the tools HR needs.
Most business software is multi-tenant: many customers share one running copy of the application and one database, kept apart by permissions and software rules rather than by separate infrastructure. PeopleCoral is single-tenant — every customer runs on their own instance, with their own database and environment.
Picture multi-tenant as an apartment block: many companies rent units in the same building and share its foundation, plumbing, lifts and front desk. It’s efficient and keeps costs down, but you share the maintenance schedule, a problem in one unit can reach the others, and you can only change things within the house rules. Single-tenant is your own building — the same proven blueprint, but yours alone, with no shared walls and no shared risk. The usual catch is that owning a building means maintaining it, and that’s the part we take on. We rent you the building and we have the concierge on our payroll: you get the dedicated environment, and we run and maintain it for you.
Both models can be secure and well-run; they optimise for different things. Multi-tenant shares infrastructure across customers to keep costs low and scale fast. Single-tenant gives each customer their own instance for isolation and control. The honest trade-off:

Because PeopleCoral is AI-native and automates provisioning, maintenance and updates, you get single-tenant isolation without the old cost premium or operational burden — which is exactly what “the concierge on our payroll” means.
PeopleCoral differs from a typical HR or payroll platform in four key ways. First, its architecture is single-tenant, giving every customer a fully isolated environment rather than placing multiple organisations on a shared platform. This also allows us to tailor the software and its configuration to each customer, because every organisation operates differently. Second, PeopleCoral has its own native payroll engine. Gross-to-net calculations are performed directly within the platform, rather than through a reporting layer connected to an external payroll provider. Third, the platform is deliberately designed to feel calm and purposeful. It focuses on simple, efficient interactions instead of turning the HRIS into another engagement-driven social feed filled with notifications. Finally, we provide or build the tools HR needs within one integrated platform. Our objective is to make costly and complex interfaces between separate HR vendors unnecessary. We believe that money is better invested in your people.
PeopleCoral is a full HRIS. It handles the core employee record, contracts and changes, absence and leave, payroll, org structure, onboarding and offboarding, and manager and employee self-service, with talent and all other tooling layered on top. What sets it apart is intent: it is designed to be quiet in daily use, so HR spends time on people rather than on chasing the system.
PeopleCoral is built on a “calm HRIS” principle: employees should touch it rarely and purposefully, and each interaction should be worth their time. There is no engagement feed, no gamified social layer, and no manufactured reason to log in. When someone does log in, the task at hand is clear and can be completed quickly, allowing them to get straight back to work. HR systems should support people in their jobs, not distract them from them.
PeopleCoral is created in 2025. We are live in the Netherlands today, with the United Kingdom and Sweden in active development. Additional European markets are planned, current country availability and progress are kept up to date on our Roadmap page. The platform is built to run multiple countries from a single instance, with local statutory logic maintained per country rather than bolted on.
In PeopleCoral, managers get a dedicated planning view — compa-ratio visualisation, budget guardrails, and enforcement of statutory salary floors — so a merit or review cycle can be run by managers directly, with HR setting the framework and keeping oversight, rather than HR rebuilding everyone’s spreadsheet by hand.
PeopleCoral supports structured talent work, including performance and competence review and nine-box-style talent mapping, so succession and development conversations sit on the same record as everything else rather than in a separate tool. Because every PeopleCoral customer operates in a dedicated single-tenant environment with its own configurable codebase, we guarantee that your performance and talent management solution will be tailored 100% to your organisation’s requirements—not restricted by a shared platform, standard workflows or a generic product roadmap.
Employees interact with PeopleCoral minimally and purposefully. Self-service covers the things they genuinely need — personal details, leave, documents, payslips — and stops there. The goal is a system people trust because it is simple, not one they tolerate because it is mandatory. We offer both desktop and dedicted mobile app experiences.
PeopleCoral runs payroll natively. It has a built-in gross-to-net (bruto-netto) engine, so calculation happens inside the platform rather than being handed to an external bureau and reported back. HR data mutations and payroll calculation live in one place, which removes the reconciliation gap between what HR changed and what payroll paid. Payroll muations are based on self-service principles.
PeopleCoral’s payroll engine is built to process a full payroll slip in well under a half a second — a different order of magnitude from the batch-and-wait cycles many teams are used to. In exceptional cases, your payroll cut-off can be set as late as the salary payment date. You control the deadline. Because your PeopleCoral environment is fully isolated, we can guarantee this flexibility without creating operational risk for other customers—something a shared multi-tenant payroll platform cannot safely offer.
PeopleCoral implements local statutory rules as first-class logic in its payroll engine rather than as manual overrides. In the Netherlands, which is live today, for example the 30% ruling (expatregeling) is handled as a native calculation rule. Statutory floors and contribution logic for each additional market — for example Swedish employer contributions (arbetsgivaravgifter) — are built into the engine as part of that country’s rollout, with progress tracked on our Roadmap page.
PeopleCoral adapts to local market norms. In Germany, the planned model has PeopleCoral managing employee data and mutations while for example DATEV performs the gross-to-net calculation and statutory filings — a clean division that respects how German payroll is actually run, without inserting third-party middleware that would break the single-tenant model. Germany is on our roadmap, and its current status is tracked on our Roadmap page.
PeopleCoral tracks changes so Finance and auditors can see what changed, when, and by whom across the HR-to-payroll chain — which is what makes the single-source-of-truth model auditable rather than just convenient.
PeopleCoral is built to feed payroll results into your general ledger and finance systems, so payroll costs land in your books without manual re-keying. PeopleCoral provides Finance with its own fully customisable profile, giving the team direct access to precisely the HR, payroll and workforce cost information it needs.
PeopleCoral handles corrections and retroactive changes inside the payroll engine, reflecting them in the record and the audit trail, so a retroactive change flows through calculation and reporting consistently rather than being patched off to the side. All in realtime information tracking.
PeopleCoral provides standard payroll cost, statutory and headcount reporting out of the box, SEPA banking files, Cost Center and Gross to Net reports, drawn from the same single instance the calculations run on. If you need more, we will make it for you.
PeopleCoral stores your data in EU-based data centres, within a single-tenant environment dedicated to your organisation.
PeopleCoral isolates customer data by architecture. Because the platform is single-tenant, your instance has its own environment and database, so your data is not co-mingled with other customers’ data in a shared pool. Isolation is structural, not just a matter of role-based access inside a shared system.
PeopleCoral is built for GDPR compliance from the ground up, in how it stores, processes and restricts access to personal data, and it supports the data-subject rights and data-processing arrangements you need as a controller.
Security is foundational to how PeopleCoral is built and operated. We’re glad to share our current security documentation, certifications and attestations with prospective and existing customers on request.
Access to your PeopleCoral instance is restricted to authorised users in your organisation, plus the minimum required PeopleCoral personnel under strict, least-privilege controls.
On offboarding, PeopleCoral lets you export your data and then deletes it from your instance according to agreed retention terms.
Implementation is scoped to your countries, entities and data, and we agree a clear timeline with you before we start.
Migration moves your employee, contract and payroll data into your single-tenant instance, with validation before you go live, so you start on a clean, checked dataset.
PeopleCoral requires no specialist technical resource from you to run day to day. Implementation involves your HR and payroll owners and the data they hold, while we handle the platform side.
Support doesn’t stop at go-live. In keeping with putting the concierge on your payroll, you get hands-on help from people who know your instance.
